DFX compared with Keiser
The DFX Servo Trainer T232 and the Keiser Functional Trainer are both cable stations for functional training and performance, but they resolve resistance in different ways. Keiser uses one pneumatic principle. The T232 is servo-controlled and runs six training modes. Below are the axes on which the two machines genuinely differ, each with a source.

Warranty, stated neutrally
Warranty is not an axis on which either brand plainly wins; the schedules are structured differently. Keiser gives ten years on the frame, three years on cylinders, displays, processor boxes and thumb switches (one year on compressors without a drying mechanism), two years on compressors, dryers, cables, pulleys and bearings, one year on chrome, ninety days on paint, upholstery, belts, grips and rubber and plastic parts, and three years on M-Series cardio excluding labour and consumables. Labour is generally not covered by Keiser.
DFX gives four years on equipment and three years on free weights. A per-component schedule is not publicly stated by DFX. On the frame, Keiser therefore gives a longer term than DFX.

Resistance: one principle against six modes
Pneumatic resistance builds up through air pressure and stays practically constant across the range of motion, without the inertia of a weight stack. That is a strong principle for explosive work and for loading with a low impact on joints. It is, however, one principle: eccentric overloading, an isokinetic velocity cap or end release cannot be produced from it.
The servo motor in the T232 holds the set load regardless of how fast or slow the movement runs. A weight stack of 32 kg swings within one explosive repetition from an effective 48 kg to 16 kg; the servo motor keeps the set load in place. On top of that, the mode can be switched per set on the 12-inch touchscreen.
Measurement per repetition
The T232 records peak power, average power, peak velocity, average velocity, peak RFD, peak force, energy expenditure, training time, number of repetitions and group allocation. Sampling frequency 2000 Hz, velocity range 0.1 to 8.0 m/s, resistance precision 0.1 lb. Each set produces a force curve that can be set against earlier sessions. Keiser publishes power, velocity and movement data through the A400 display and its own app line. The difference is not whether data exists, but the depth per repetition and what happens with it afterwards.
Data, export and ownership
Training data from DFX equipment is held in Europe, is exportable to xlsx and remains the property of the customer. The DFX Smart Gym App is the user interface, PAMFA the underlying data platform. There is no mandatory software subscription to keep the machine functional. Anyone building their own reporting or a research model can work straight from the export.
Instruction on the machine
The T232 carries 115 instruction videos per muscle group on the touchscreen itself. On a floor with rotating staff or with users who train unsupervised, that removes a piece of instruction load from the team.
Origin and delivery structure
The machine carries the name ELIGA — the technology partner with which DFX produces its digital resistance line. Delivery, installation, service, warranty and the single point of contact all sit with DFX in Huizen, the Netherlands. Keiser is an American manufacturer that sells outright through regional distributors, without a mandatory subscription; warranty and service run through the distributor for the region.
The price of six modes
More modes means more software dependency and a steeper learning curve for the team. Anyone who cannot assign the modes to the right user group ends up with a machine that effectively runs in one mode. A single principle is simpler to operate; six modes give more coverage per station. That trade-off is the actual decision.
When Keiser is the better choice
There are three situations in which the Keiser Functional Trainer demonstrably fits better than the DFX Servo Trainer T232. Anyone who recognises one of these three is better off buying Keiser.
1. Training explosively on pneumatic resistance only, with no need for data
Keiser describes the system as constant pneumatic resistance that reduces impact loading. For a floor that only wants to offer that one training mode, without measurements, force curves or export, a servo-controlled platform with six modes is needless complexity. 2. Needing a light and compact machine
The Keiser Functional Trainer weighs 59 kg floor-mounted (136 kg with its base) and has a base depth of 1219 mm. The DFX Servo Trainer T232 weighs 270 kg and measures 2046 mm in depth. 3. Needing a higher absolute resistance or a lower starting resistance
Keiser goes up to 48 kg bilaterally and 24 kg unilaterally, and starts from 0.1 kg in increments of 100 grams. The T232 delivers 0.5 to 32 kg per arm in increments of 0.1 kg. Anyone who has to load heavier than 32 kg per arm, or who wants to start lower than 0.5 kg — in early-stage rehabilitation, for instance — should choose Keiser.
